Coach Norman Black to visit Cebu Tuesday

-

Ateneo de Manila University men’s basketball coach Norman Black will be coming to Cebu on Tuesday to touch base with the leaders of the basketball program of the Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHSJ).

This was revealed by sportsman Jack Huang, an SHSJ alumnus who is also active with Ateneo’s basketball program.

Black is expected to take a peek at SHSJ’s basketball program with the goal of establishing a linkage between the Jesuit-run schools. He’ll be sharing pointers and notes with the school as he dialogues with the school’s basketball leaders and coaches. He is also tabbed to be at the practice sessions of the SHS-J teams in this one-day visit.

“The long-term outlook for this linkage is to make Cebu (and Sacred Heart) a possible source of talents for Ateneo’s collegiate team. We’re all excited about Coach Norman Black’s visit to Sacred Heart, knowing that any input he has will be a big boost to the school’s program,” Huang said.

Hosts for Black’s visit will be Huang and Perry Lim, lead parent coordinator of SHS-J’s basketball program.

Black is fresh from steering Ateneo to the 2007 Collegiate Champions’ League championship where the Blue Eagles defeated seven-time CESAFI champion University of the Visayas in the finals. — Rico S. Navarro, Columnist
