UV is virtual champ in college division

The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters virtually bagged the tertiary division crown of the 2007 Cebu City Olympics after hauling 37 golds, 21 silvers and 11 bronzes at the Cebu City Sports Center yesterday.

Meanwhile, Tejero District hang on at the top in the secondary division with 102 points as the elementary level has the Lahug District leading the pack with 134 points.

UC is ahead by 24 golds from its closest pursuer Cebu State College of Science and Technology with a 13-13-16 gold-silver-bronze medal count as Southwestern University dropped to third place with a 10-4-10 tally. The University of San Carlos is taking the fourth spot with 4-17-6 followed by Cebu Normal University with one gold.

In the secondary level,Tejero is ahead by just a hairline from Zapatera District with 102 points, zooming in to the top after ruling the basketball event via a 64-53 victory of the University of the Visayas over the University of San Jose-Recoletos.

Zapatera now stands with 101 points followed by Lahug District with 87 points.

Lahug, however, leads the cast in the elementary division with 134 points followed by Cebu City Central with 84 points and Mabolo with 69.5 points.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol with Marigold Lebumfacil
