Move it

SPORTS EYE - Raff T. Uytiepo -

A lot of people be moving when the M.O.V.E. 5K run hits the road on December 2.  The race aimed to benefit the people with disabilities (PWDS) will start at the Cebu Provincial Capitol after a 10-minute aerobics warm up to be led by Citigym under Anne Manubag. The run is being organized by the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM) Visayas under its chairman Dr. Renald Ramiro to generate a critical illness fund for the use of the PWDS.  After the Cebu launching that will also mark the International Day of the disabled, PARM will also hold similar activities in Iloilo Bacolod and hopefully Manila next year.  The run will also include a wheelchair amputee categories besides the open division.  Of course, the run would not be a reality without the support of our presentors PFIZER represented by Jerry Canonigo and Roche through Whinzel Logronio.  The other supporters of the race are Y101 with June Rabinn at the helm, Waterfresh Purified Drinking Water under Lilio Lim and Casa Ilongga.

Metrografix

Also lending a big help is the fast-rising Metrografix under Jung Cases who will be providing the streamers and race numbers. For the first time, we will be using a sticker race number, this early, we would like to thank Gov. Gwen Garcia for allowing us to use the capitol. Other race backers are Cebu Doctors University, Advance Rehab Care, Boehringer Ingelheim, Cebu Orthopedic Institute, Chong Hua Hospital, Hi-Eisai,c Janssen, Wterfront Hotel, SV More, Wyeth, Biomedis, MSD, Novartis, Servier, Pepsi Cola, Rottapharm, The Freeman and the Phil. Sports Commission.
