Liloan takes cluster VI Guv Cup title
Liloan volleybelles swept their games to capture cluster VI championship of the 3rd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup at their turf the other day.
Team Liloan showed too much firepower in sweeping Consolacion, Cordova and Compostela, in straight sets, in that order, to end a 3-year title drought.
The volleybelles started their romp with a 25-14, 25-9 win over Consolacion. After a brief rest, they tamed Cordova 25-13, 25-16, and then proceeded to outclass Compostela 25-19, 25-15.
Compostela finished second with a 2-1 record after beating Cordova 25-15, 25-19 and Consolacion 25-10, 25-14.
By finishing 1-2, Liloan and Compostela earned the right to represent cluster VI in the semifinal round set for next month.
Liloan received the P20,000 cash prize while Compostela went home with the runner-up purse of P10,000. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
