SCBHABA, 3 other teams stay unbeaten in MP Cup

The San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (SCBHABA), Rama Boys, Punta Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) and Metro Cebu Basketball Association (MCBA) logged their second straight wins to figure in a four-way logjam on top of the Bracket B leader board of the 1st MP Cup Invitational at the USC-Main Gym.

John Andrew Auza and Dindo Sausa connived for 39 points as SCBHABA of coach Lou Regidor triumphed over Casino Filipino-Mactan, 89-80, while Richard Molina fired 19 points and Edgar de la  Calzada added 14 to vault Barkada-Rama Boys of Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael L. Rama to a 59-51 victory over Cocoroj-Iglesia Ni Cristo.

Cocoroj-INC, however, went on snap out of its two-game losing skid with a 58-32 crushing of Cebu Dental Society (CDS). Gerardo Mangubat topped Cocoroj-INC with 12 points followed by Romeo Montefalcon with 11.

Not to be outdone, the Samsung-backed PPSA stayed on a rampage by demolishing the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) of sports patron Alan Choachuy, 77-55, while MCBA of urban poor leader Edward Ligas spanked Jaycees Basketball Association (JBA)-Crunchicken of Benedict Chua and Boy Te, 63-41.

PPSA team manager Reeve Jumawan topscored for PPSA with 14 points followed by Hector Lemuel Unajan with 12, while Ronnie Ganancial showed the way for MCBA with 15 markers followed by Johnny Bargamento with 11.
