Team Pacman, RWS Stable now 2-0 in MP Cup Invitational hoop
Team Pacman of boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao and RWS Stable/AJL Surplus coasted to their second straight wins in as many games in the 1st MP Cup Invitational Basketball Tournament last Saturday at the USC-Main Gym.
Team Pacman banked on a solid endgame finish to fluster Philippine Farmer’s Bank-Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), 85-75, while RWS Stable dominated the game from start to finish to tame Club Monday, 60-51.
In the other featured match, the MS Motosuit-Unity Basketball Club (UBC) of sports patron Lou Ornopia staged a great escape to turn back House of Hope, 77-75.
The UBC mainstays were trailing most of the way and were down by as much as 14 points until they staged a tide-turning rally towards the closing minutes. Interestingly, the final outcome was UBC’s first and only taste of the lead in the game.
