CDTP-Mandaue athletes shine in DCPI tourney

Mandaue’s Centre for Dancesports Training Philippines (CDTP) - Cebu Province more than held its own in the recent 11th Dancesport Council of the Philippines, Inc. (DCPI) National Championships at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

CDTP brought home two golds, two silvers and two bronzes, not bad for a group formed only three months ago.

“The group really did very well during the competition. The kids, though they practiced for just three weeks, still reaped awards in the tourney. It was a good result for us being a newly-created club,” said Cely Chionbian, one of CDTP’s advisers.

The pair of Joselito Millan and Marie Bernafe Malazarte won two medals for CDTP, gold in the Latin Discipline Grade E and silver in the Latin Discipline Grade D.

Jefferson Pimentel and Virgianie “YenYen” Oyao pocketed CDTP’s second gold medal with an impressive performance in the Latin Discipline-Youth A.

Joseph Jojie Pasicaran and Susan Luizen accounted for CDTP’s other silver medal in the Standard Discipline-Senior C.

Kevin Minoza and Rodah Mae Fernandez won the bronze in Latin Discipline –Youth A so did Tomas Ingan and Arianne Velasquez in the Latin Discipline-Special Event 1F. — Marigold P. Lebumfacil, Correspondent
