Some of Cebu’s former and present crop of tennis stars will show their stuff today in the 3rd Capitol Parish Tennis Cup at the San Carlos Seminary (SANCASE) tennis courts in Brgy. Mabolo, this city.
The annual event is part of the birthday celebration of Rev. Fr. Rey Talaugon of the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish, which is also known by many as Capitol Parish situated on Escario Street.
Talaugon, who is the benefactor of the Capitol Parish Developmental Tennis Training Pool, will strut his wares in the seniors division featuring varsity players paired with veterans aged 40 years old and above.
There will also be team competition among junior players.
Among the stars to watch out for in the one-day tilt are the Dumoran brothers James and Oswaldo, Robby Soquiño, Shem Montalbo, Larry Antigua, and the Siso siblings Sally Mae, Bernardine “Niño” and Sally Dine.
The winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, and medals. — EBV
