La Salle Cebu Goes Bad!

-

The colors of green and white will be in the spotlight anew as the One La Salle Cebu Alumni Association (OLSCAA) holds the “LA SALLE goes BAD! The 2nd President’s Cup Badminton Tournament tomorrow at the Casino Español de Cebu.

This was announced by tournament director and OLSCAA sports committee head John Pages as he called on all La Salle alumni to sign up for the event.

Players will be divided into two teams (Green and White) in a dual meet format. Players of the same level will clash against each other, and the team with the most number of matches won will be crowned as over-all champions.

“The tournament is really more of a fellowship activity for the association. We had this last year and had a lot fun. The impact was awesome. And so we’re going to do it every year,” Pages said.

Leading their respective sides are team captains Gerry Malixi and Cholo Verches. Among the players expected to lead the charge for their respective teams include OLSCAA President Martin Ledesma and Battle of the Courts veteran Ogie Laranas. Others who have confirmed to play in this one-day tournament include top sports doctor Dr. Tony San Juan, Dr. Leo Jiao, Bobby Martinez, Amiel del Castillo, Chinky Cortez, Deo Dumaraos, Dave Karamihan, Henry Navarro, Pepi Martinez, Willie Maraña, Emmanuel Bañares, and Jason Co.

All the players are required to be at the venue by 12:30 pm for the registration and drafting of teams. Matches will follow the drafting and a simple awarding ceremony will be held after all matches are played.

The OLSCAA boasts of a membership of La Salle alumni coming from La Salle-run schools all over the country, from De La Salle University in Manila , La Salle Lipa, University of St. La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod and Andres Soriano Memorial School (now ASMC) in Toledo City.
