Oslob takes Cluster II-A volleyball championship

Host Oslob sent five visiting squads packing after winning the cluster II-A title of the 3rd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup for Women at their own turf the other day.

Oslob dominated the tournament with a clean 5-0 slate. Oslob won two games in the opening day and then defeated Boljoon, Samboan and Malabuyoc the next day.

Team Oslob will face the winner of cluster II-B next week in Badian for top honors in cluster II. Win or lose, Oslob is already assured of a slot in the final round set later this year.

Boljoon and Santander finished the tournament with a similar 2-3 win-loss slate; Malabuyoc had a 2-3 mark, while Alcoy was winless in five games.

Cluster II-B action is set this weekend featuring teams from Alegria, Alcantara, Badian, Ronda, Moalboal and Dumanjug. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
