Cebu junior netters book Malaysia stint

Niño and Sally Mae Siso, Jacob Lagman and Vince Marc Tabotabo booked stints in the Malaysia junior circuit after coming out triumphant in their respective divisions in the National Milo Junior Tennis Championship at the Dapitan tennis courts in Quezon City yesterday.

Nino Siso struggled for almost two hours before subduing Jeson Patrombon 6-7, (5-7), 6-3, 10-8 in the boys 14-under division. Sally Mae, however, had an easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Marinel Rudas in the girls 14-under division for her third straight title.

Jacob Lagman made short work of Bryan Kent Balbanida, 6-1, 6-1, to rule the boys 12-under division.

Marc Tabotabo pocketed a Malaysia stint even with a pending match against Eric Olivarez. Yesterday morning, Tabotabo beat Olivarez in the boys 10-under category, 6-0, 6-4, in the Hilado Cup at the Rizal Memorial tennis courts.

Krissianne Kintanar was the lone casualty among Cebu’s junior netters when she lost to North Luzon’s Marian Capadocio in the girls 12-under division. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
