The Cebu City council has earmarked close to P200,000 for Cebu’s dancesport athletes who will see action in the 2007 Dancesport Council of the Philippines Incorporated (DCPI) National Dancesport Championships set for October 13 at the Philsport Arena in Pasig City.
The funds will come from PAGCOR and will cover the transportation and other expenses of Cebu dancesport athletes. The Freeman learned that the city is planning to send not less 20 couples to the contest, the last and final dancesport contest for this year.
Cebu hopes to bounce back after losing its national title in the mid-year ranking in Manila last June.
The City recently hosted the 2nd Cebu IDSF Open and the 3rd Dancesport Sa Sugbo that attracted more than 600 participants from 11 countries. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
