Team Isleman upsets MLSDF in softball tourney

Team Isleman sent defending champions M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) crashing to earth with an 8-3 upset at the start of the 3rd M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Softball Championships at the San Roque ballfield in Subangdaku, MandaueTeam Isleman started strong by scoring two runs in the first inning after Teofel Sadaya posted his first RBI. He hit the ball to the third base enabling his teammates Adolfo and Deniola to score. MLSDF, however, scored a run at the bottom of the inning.

Team Isleman scored three more runs in the sixth inning. Burgos hit a homerun at the start of the sixth that earned a run for him and his playing coach Goodie dela Cerna. Sadaya then chalked up his second RBI of the game for another Deniola run.

Team Isleman scored three more runs to finish off MLSDF who could only score a run each in the sixth and seventh innings.

Msgr. Achiles Dakay, the newly appointed president of Cebu Amateur Softball Association (CASA), celebrated the mass to kick off the softball tournament.  Six teams are vying for the title. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
