NM Retanal rules blitz chess

National Master Elwin Retanal won the Barangay Ramos Invitational Chess Blitz Tournament held at the Barangay Cogon Ramos multi-purpose center last Saturday.

Retanal beat Eden Diano via a tiebreaker after the two wood pushers collected six points apiece after seven rounds. Richard Natividad took third place honors with 5.5 points.

Earlier  this year, Retanal won the 2007 Mayor Rodrigo Duterte-Kadayawan Sports Festival at the Gaisano Mall of Davao before placing third in the recent Panabo City Active Chess tournament. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
