The Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) in partnership with Cebu Volleyball Association (CEVA) will be holding a FIVB Referees Course set from August 13 to 18 at the cavernous Social Hall of the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

Founded in 1947 in Paris, France, the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) is the international governing body for the sport of volleyball. Its headquarters are located in Lausanne, Switzerland.

CEVA logistics and equipment director Andrew Choachuy relayed to The Freeman that international referees Vic Abalos and Nestor Bello and former PVF president Roger Branzuela will spearhead the six-day workshop held in cooperation with the Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball (GUV) Cup.

The guest lecturers are expected to update the participants with the latest FIVB sports regulations and refereeing guidelines and instructions that will be applied in all international competitions.

Registration is for free. Interested parties may enlist themselves for the said activity at 8 am on August 13 at the event venue.

Aside from the seminar-workshop, there will also be a licensing for level 1, level 2 and level 3 referees. Licensing fee is pegged at only P300.
