Ewald Denker Cup resumes Saturday

Action in the Ewald Denker Cup Men’s Open and Junior Division will go on as scheduled starting April 14, at MEPZ 1 football field in Lapu-Lapu City.

Tonight at 7 p.m., the team coaches or their representatives will meet for the drawing of lots at MB’s Restaurant in Lapu-Lapu.

The men’s tournament will be divided into four divisions all playing following the 11-a-side format except for the junior D battle.

Belonging to the junior A are those born on 1988 and under, junior B for those born on 1990 and under, junior C for those born on 1992 and under and the junior D for those born on 1994 and under.

The junior A action will be the first to kick off as it is set this Saturday already and it will be followed by the junior C while the junior B class will take place on April 21 and the men’s open on the 22nd.

The junior D will be taking place either on the 28th or 29th of this month.

Competing in the men’s division are the Ramos FC, Melbourne FC, CIC Mandaue Alumni FC, GOLASOL, Metropolitan FC, Maitland Smith Inc. FC, CSCSAT, USPF Alumni, FC Inter Cebu and FC Inter Lapu-Lapu.

There will also be football clinics set to further hone the skills of the neophytes.

On April 23 to 28, the clinic will be taking place at the Lapu-Lapu City Elementary School and at the Abuno Elementary and High School from April 30 to May 5.

Earlier, the organizing the FC Inter Cebu Incorporated implemented its football program in another school in Lapu-lapu, the Abuno High School and Elementary School. — Caecent No-ot-Magsumbol
