The Ultimate Fighting Academy (UFA) located at the Ted Manreza building at F. Ramos Street will finally be opened this morning at 9:30 with Mayor Tomas Osmeña as the guest of honor.
The UFA is built as Cebu's first structure that caters to training the locals in mixed martial arts and fitness.
The mixed martial arts included are boxing, yawyan kickboxing, combat, grappling and stick fighting also known as eskrima arnis.
The fitness side will be for bodybuilding or weight training for the athletes.
This YawYan Philippines affiliated mixed martial arts and fitness school aims to produce athletes that will compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championships with only Brandon Vera being identified as a Filipino ligitimate UFC fighter.
Also, it aimed to promote physical fitness to all as well as provide a venue for training self-defense using hybrid-reality combat techniques.
