Michael Sharpe of Cebu International School (CIS) earned a ticket to the RP National U-21 Training Pool after he was chosen by Bob Salvacion of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) during the local try-outs last January 29-30, at the San Roque and University of San Carlos football fields.
Sharpe was the youngest member, at 14 years old, of the Cebu team which finished runner-up in the Adidas Under-19 two years ago.
Jonathan Maximo of CebuFA received the official PFF memo last Monday, confirming the inclusion of Sharpe to the list of 25 players for the RP National U-21 training pool.
Sharpe is expected to report for the training on February 14 at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.
Out of the 25 players, who would be attending the Closed Camp on February 15 to 28, PFF will select the final 18 booters, who will join the RP National U-21 team for its participation in the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy for the U-21 Southeast Asian Youth Football Championship on March 3-17 in Brunei Darussalam.- Correspondent Marigold P.
