Former San Beda point guard Carlo Britt Reroma is designated as the Cebu leg coordinator while SBC Red Cubs coach Edmundo "Ato" Badolato will be the tournament director.
Reroma, also a product of Don Bosco before transferring to San Beda, said they are eyeing a total of 16 teams from Cebu, which is hosting the third leg, to follow the first leg in Manila on February 3 and Pampanga on February 17 for the second leg.
He said schools like USC, SHS, Don Bosco and University of San Jose Recoletos already confirmed their participation.
USC and Don Bosco will be fielding in two teams each and one each from SHS and USJ-R.
Other schools like UV, UC, USPF, CEC and some of the public schools here will also be invited to the tournament.
Reroma said he will call for a coaches meeting next week with the venue to be announced later. He is also tapping Accel as the official outfitter of the participating teams.
Players born January 1, 1995 are still eligible to play.
The Cherifier Forte caging started only last year in Manila and in its second year, organizers decided to bring the tournament to Cebu.
