Doce Pares World holds election today
December 30, 2006 | 12:00am
Doce Pares World Federation president Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete is calling all members to attend today's election at 7 pm at the Doce Pares headquarters along C. Padilla street.
Since Cañete is already the president emeritus of the club, the members will only elect the vice-president down to the lowest officers and board members.
There will be a little salo-salo after the election.
Those who will be elected into office will be inducted on January 6.
Dennis Cañete, son of Cacoy said they are holding the induction earlier than the regular second Sunday of January because of the forthcoming 12th ASEAN Summit here in Cebu.
He said they are afraid no members could come to the induction if they set it on January 13 when streets are busy due to the re-routing.
Meanwhile, the Guadalupe Athletic Association (GAA) will hold its Christmas party and awarding ceremonies tonight at the Guadalupe gym.
The Ludo Corporation-Violet team is the champion of the GAA inter-color.
Likewise, the MVP of the tournament will be known tonight.
Newly elected president, former Cebu vice-governor Enrico Rama, will lead his members during the awarding rites.
Other officials including Guadalupe barangay captain Jing-jing Faelnar and city councilor and coach Raul "Yayoy" Alcoseba are also invited to grace the affair.
