Five assured of titles in MS Motosuit series

Five daredevils are already assured of bagging the overall title in their respective classes as the 2006 MS Motosuit Motocross Series comes to a close tomorrow in Panadtaran, San Fernando.

Nonoy Reluya, who is one of the organizers, is virtually assured of bagging the overall title in the executive B class, collecting 263 points after 10 legs.

He is enjoying a 58-point advantage over closest pursuer Seigfred Ornopia, who has 205 points.

Even if Ornopia wins the last race, it will not be enough for him to overtake Reluya as one rider could only get as much as 40 points in two heats.

Along with Reluya, who have the choice to forego today's race are Jovannie Abellar, Dongkey Sanchez, John Flores and Jed Luna.

Luna, who accumulated 272 points in the local enduro, is 49 points up ahead of Boni Bustillo.

Flores, for his part, benefited from the absence of Samantha Abellar in the last four legs, paving his way to top with 337 points in the mini class as against Abellar, who only has 135.

Sanchez virtually rules the novice open enduro with 303 points, but can still improve it if he races and wins in the last leg as he is 23 points up against Bustillo.

Jovannie Abellar joins the virtual overall winners with 328 points in the intermediate class as he is 77 points ahead over his younger brother Jubenile Abellar.

But Jubenile Abellar still has a chance to be the Rider of the Year as he currently stands second in the expert class behind Irwin Ramas-Uypitching.

Uypitching has 305 points, just 29 points ahead of Abellar. Uypitching should race in the final battle if he wants to protect his lead.

On the other hand, Jon-jon Adlawan (261) needs to race well tomorrow as he only had 23-point advantage over teammate Joshua Abella (238). Mark Paulo Inoc is also lurking behind with 236 points.

Andot Rubi also carries a 23-point advantage going into the last leg as he earned 303 points in the executive A as against Aloy Igot's 280 points.

The beginner's production is also a very thrilling race to watch with Dongkey Sanchez only enjoying three points lead with 299 points over Norman Pautan, who has 296 points in the MS Motosuit Series led by Lou Ornopia.
