Lapu-Lapu enters semis in GUV Cup

Defending champion Lapu-Lapu City advances to the semifinal round of the 2nd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup even as they still have one more game left at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex in Mandaue City today.

Lapu-Lapu logged two more easy wins to make it 4-0 after two days of battle in the qualifying round.

Yesterday, Lapu-Lapu gave some neat lessons to Compostela, 25-22, 25-14, after scoring a default win over Boljoon the other day.

Lapu-lapu will have Talisay City as its last opponent in the qualifying round today. But the results will no longer affect their standing as they are already booked for the semis.

Talisay, for their part, trails Lapu-Lapu with 3-0 card.

Compostela stands third (2-2), getting its second win also by a default game against Sta. Fe.

Balamban has one win and two losses while Boljoon and Sta. Fe are both winless.
