Siso attains grandslam feat

Cebuana Sally Mae Siso gave herself an early Christmas present by accomplishing a grandslam feat in the girls' 12-under division of the Perlis Milo Open International Junior Age-Group Tennis Championships 2006 yesterday in Matrikulasi Arau Perlis, Malaysia.
It was a delightful double celebration for Siso, who also captured the doubles tiara with Malaysian partner Neesha Menon.
The fourth-ranked Siso of the University of San Carlos-South Grade School bagged her third straight singles crown after thrashing Korean Choi Jihee in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Later, Siso and Menon fought in perfect chemistro to pummel the Korean tandem of Choi Jihee and Lee Daun coincidentally via the same score of 6-4, 6-4.
Their victory was a sweet revenge of sort for Siso and Menon, who were vanquished by the same Korean pair during the Penang International Junior Tennis Championships last week.
Meanwhile, Siso and fellow Cebuano netter Vince Marc Tabotabo hope to cap their Malaysia sojourn on a winning note as they compete in another tournament in Langkawi today together wigh the rest of the Pinoy cast.
