Rose chess set Dec. 11 at E-Mall

Cebu's seasoned and up-coming chess players will be strutting their wits in the four-day Rose Pharmacy Open Chess Tournament starting December 11 at Elizabeth Mall's Activity Center.

The event will follow a seven-round Swiss system in the elimination round where in the top 16 will qualify for the in the two-dame knock-out format.

In case of tie, it will be settled through direct encounter, Bucholz, median and their progressive scores.

The champion in the event will get P12,000 while the runner-up goes home with P6,000.

The semifinalist, on the other hand, will get P4,000 each while the quarterfinalists get P2,000 apiece.
