East Side Boxing scribe Sean Ocampo has installed Filipino ring icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao (43-3-2, 33KOs) as the world's No.1 pound-for-pound fighter, relegating "Pretty Boy" Flloy Mayweather to a close second spot in his monthly ratings.
"The man from General Santos City has taken over Floyd Mayweather's number one spot this month in my ratings because of his performance against Erik Morales the past weekend. He completely demolished the Mexican ring idol with tremendous power, lightning speed and pinpoint accuracy enroute to a third round knockout victory. The Pacman moves to another level with the impressive showing of his much improved skills in the ring," said Ocampo.
"Pretty Boy dropped his number spot in my ratings due to Pacquiao's much impressive victory. However, Mayweather is still a close second placer," added Ocampo.
Morales, who was hammered by Pacquiao into a third round submission in their short but brutal bout last Sunday in Las Vegas, was knocked out from the Top 10 in Ocampo's list.
Three Mexicans though still hold lofty rankings in Marco Antonio Barrera (No.5), Rafael Marquez (No.6) and Israel Vazquez (No.8)
Ronald "Winky" Wright is ranked third followed by Jermain Taylor. Joe Calzaghe is No.7, Ricky Hatton No.9 and Miguel Cotto No.10.
