Cebuana Sally Mae Siso smoothly barged into the semifinal round in the girls 12-under division of the Selangor International Junior Open Tennis Championships in Selangor, Malaysia.
Siso, sponsored by Osaka Iridology, Dunlop and University of San Carlos, hammered Kuala Lumpur bet Mohd Yasip Hyda Yazmin with authority, 6-0, 6-0 to shore up her gold medal bid.
Siso will face next the second-ranked Azhar Adeebah of Negeri Sembelan for a berth into the championship round.
Aside from the singles, Sally Mae is also competing in the doubles event alongside Shareena Kau Gill of Kuala Lumpur.
Aside from Siso, another Cebuano, Vince Marc Tabotabo, is also competing in Malaysia. His trip is backstopped by Cebu Vice Governor Greg Sanchez.
After the Selangor event, the Cebuanos and the rest of the RP bets will invade the Penang, Perlis and Langkawi for another competition.
