Tormis is champion in LOPTTA tablenet

Dannel Jay Tormis took the cudgels when his senior teammates failed to deliver as he wins a championship trophy for University of Cebu-Crown Paddle in the LOPTTA Invitational Table Tennis Championships at the Lopue's Annes in Bacolod City.

Tormis lead a 1-3 finish in the mixed 10-under class for UC-Crown Paddle team, which is supported by Osaka Iridology CEO Jonathan Guardo.

He snatched the championship trophy via a loop-sided victory against an Ilonggo.

The bronze medal finish was clinched by teammate Jean Phillippe Honoridez of Colegio del Santo Niño. He is the son of Jessica Jawad-Honoridez who is also spearheading UC-Crown Paddle.

In the 12-under, John Paul Baay settled for silver to Ianne Larriba while Tormis claimed the third spot.

In the open division, the Cebu bets failed to grab the honors.
