Region 7 team sails today for Special Olympics

The 60-member Central Visayas delegation will leave today for the Special Olympics set to start tomorrow in Marikina City.
The delegation will be composed of 40 athletes with 20 coaches and chaperons since the Central Visayas organizing group is assigning one coach or chaperon to look after four athletes.
Composing the Central Visayas squad, which will be competing only in athletics and swimming, are special children from Bohol, Dumaguete, Cebu Province, Mandaue and Cebu City.
Central Visayas will not be fielding in representatives in the team sports of the event to be participated by mentally-challenged individuals.
The athletes will be classified not only according to their respective ages but by their level of competitiveness to make the competition fair and exciting.
The event will run for three-days.
