Garfield survives McMill

Team Garfield posted its third win in the 2nd conference of the Cebu Athletic Basketball Association (CABA)-Tommy n Tony Cup after escaping past McMill Ferri, 96-94, at the San Nicolas Sports Complex Thursday night.

Garfield dominated the first half and put up a nine-point advantage going into the third quarter, 51-42.

But Garfield then relaxed, narrowing their lead over McMill. Good thing they were quick to put up a good defense, preventing McMill from grabbing the lead.

With three wins in four outings, Garfield stands at second place alongside Felmar Enterprises while McMill dropped to 1-3 card.

On the other hand, the Julie's Bakeshop-Mitsubishi Motors tussle was called off following a walkout of referees with 52 seconds remaining in the third canto.

The walkout was triggered by the complaints of Julie's Bakeshop bench and its players after being slapped with four technical fouls.
