Our Lady of Lourdes 5K Run set this Sunday

Everything is set for the Archdiocesan shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes 5K run this Sunday at the Lourdes Parish Gym in Brgy. Punta Prinsesa, this city.
Race director Raffy Uytiepo said over 500 runners are expected to participate in the race, which serves as the opening salvo of the golden jubilee celebration of Lourdes Parish that will culminate in February next year.
Cebu's top-rated runners in the likes of Mendel Lopez, Reiz Enriquez, Joseph Penales, Adonis Singson, Eugene Delposo, Christy Sevilleno, Leszl Getaruelas, Madelyn Carter and Merlita Arias are expected to show up to vie for top honors.
Cash prizes and trophies will be given away to the different category winners.
The champion in the men and women's divisions will receive P3,000 each, while the second and third placers will get P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
The fourth to 10th will pocket P300 each plus medals.
All the finishers will get singlets and certificates of participation.
Expected to add glitz to the race is the participation of Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama, councilor Raul "Yayoy" Alcoseba, CCSC Commissioner Rolly Diorico, Judge Gabby Ingles, Ombudsman Ed Canton, Punta Prinsesa Brgy. Capt. Joe Navarro and the Guardo brothers, Jonathan and Jerry.
The race is sponsored by the Cebu City Sports Commission, Arthro Kontra Atraytis of Atan Guardo, Casa Ilongga Robinson's Place, Knights of Columbus, Golden Haven, Mackmayer, McDonalds South Road and Seiko.
ERUF, Punta Prinsesa Barangay Council and the Philippien Sports Commission Region VII will provide technical assistance to the race.
