Bimoli Cooking Oil reaffirmed its mastery over defending champion Dunkin Donuts/Gillamac '97 with a 63-54 win in Game 1 of their best-of-three finals series for the 11th Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association (SHABA) cage crown at the Sacred Heart School-Jesuit gym.
Chad Cañares topped Bimoli Cooking Oil with 29 points, while Dennis Que and Dave Ting contributed 11 and 10 markers, respectively.
Walter Ong paced Dunkin Donuts-Gillamac's with 16 points.
Bimoli Cooking Oil could wrap up the crown with another triumph this Sunday, but it should brace for a tough battle as Dunkin Donuts/Gillamac will surely give its all-out best to forge a rubbermatch.
The scores
Bimoli(63) - Canares 29, Que 14, Ting 10, D. Lim 9, Lim 2
Dunkin Donuts (54) - Ong 16, Sala 14, Go 13, Sy 6, Guanzon 3, Alvarez 2
