Healthy Boom Boom to hold public workout

-
Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista will show his wares in public for the first time since enduring a spate of injuries as the Boholano boxing sensation is slated to take on three sparmates in a torrid sparring session at the ALA Gym Fight Club in Banilad Town Center at 5 pm tomorrow.

The boxing preview is open and free to the public. After sparring, the 20-year-old Bautista will accommodate his fans for autograph signing and photo sessions.

Bautista will depart for Los Angeles, California on October 25 to start his training at Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym. He will be accompanied by ALA chief trainer Edito Villamor.

If the P1 Visa of Z Gorres and AJ Banal will be processed by then, both ALA stalwarts are expected to accompany Bautista in his US sojourn.

Bautista is scheduled to slug it out with Brazilian champion Giovanni Andrade on December 2 at the St. Peter Square Times in Tampa, Florida.

Bautista was initially slated to clash with Andrade in the undercard of Marco Antonio Barrera-Rocky Juarez rematch last September 16 in Las Vegas.

The Candijay, Bohol punisher, however, was forced to back out from the bout for incurring a hairline fracture in his right clavicle during training.

This marks Bautista's comeback fight after being sidelined for five months due to a pair of injuries.

Bautista also pulled out of his match against Mexican Alejandro Felix Montiel in the undercard of Manny Pacquiao-Oscar Larios showdown last July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum because of a viral infection.
