Viloria-Nino rematch to spice up Pacquiao-Morales III

-
People oftentimes fail and make mistakes that is why there's always a second chance. That is precisely what Fil-Am Brian Viloria gets.

Top Rank big boss Bob Arum announced yesterday that Omar Nino, who dethroned Viloria to snatch the WBC light flyweight title last August in a top candidate for "Upset of the Year," will make his first defense against 'The Hawaiian Punch' next month.

Boxingscene.com reported that the Nino-Viloria rematch will serve as one of the chief supporting bouts of the hotly-anticipated Manny Pacquiao-Erik Morales rubbermatch billed as "The Grand Finale" on November 18 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Viloria seeks no less than redemption against the man who inflicted not only the first, but the most humiliating defeat in his career, so far.

During their August 10 encounter at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Viloria surrendered his WBC belt to a completely unknown Mexican Nino without giving much of a fight.

In what some boxing scholars described as a "horror of a fight" for Viloria, many were disappointed by the manner he fought. So pathetic, effortless and above all, boring.

To sum it up, Viloria's greatest weakness had been exposed on that fateful night- he has no fighting heart.

But it is definitely not too late for Viloria to make amends. Given what he had asked for - a return bout with Nino - Viloria hopes to regain lost glamour, heal wounded pride and restore the faith of his fans in him.

"I didn't fight my fight that night," reasoned out Viloria. "I just wanted another opportunity and now I have it on November 18."

Nino, for his part, said he was "determined to win" when he shocked Viloria and that he looks forward to a second showdown with the California-based warrior from Waipahu, Hawaii.

"I went into the ring with one thing on my mind - to go in there and win the world title," Nino said. "The key was pressure. I like to put on pressure and that's how I beat Viloria the first time. I have no problems giving him a rematch."

Viloria holds a 19-1 win-loss record spiked with 12KOs, while the Guadalajara, Mexico-native Nino sports an equally-impressive 24-2-1 ledger with 10KOs.
