UV-Mandaue grabs solo lead in MACABA caging

The University of the Visayas-Mandaue grabbed the solo lead in bracket B after beating fellow league leader Royal Oaks International School, 64-53, in the Mandaue City Amateur Basketball Association (MACABA)-9th Season Basketball Tournament at the Paknaan National High School Gym in Mandaue City.

The win over Royal Oaks improved the standing of UV-Mandaue to four wins with no defeat to take the top seat in bracket B.

The first quarter saw UV-Mandaue enjoying only a one-point lead, 12-11, and it increased to seven points at the half.

Today, UV-Mandaue hopes to extend its winning streak when they face hometeam Paknaan National High School.

Paknaan, for their part, hopes to overtake UV-Mandaue from the overall standings. Paknaan currently stands with three wins after winning against Tipolo National High School, 39-36.

On the other hand, Don Gerardo Ouano MNS and Little Angels Montessori School shares the top spot in bracket A with a 3-0 card.

LAMS tied with Don Gerardo after defeating Canduman NHS, 57-49. The other games last Saturday saw St. Louis School of Mandaue posting a 54-45 win against Mandaue City Comprehensive NHS while Tabok NHS outsmarted Cabancalan NHS, 53-50, and San Isidro buried St. Joseph Academy, 57-17.
