The 2nd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup For Women goes full blast today with seven games set under cluster-I in Naga, Cebu.
Talisay City is riding high with hopes to stay clean after its morale boosting win over cluster-I champion Carcar in the opening day.
Talisay, which had been disqualified from the action in this Cebu Volleyball Association (CEVA)-organized event after fielding ineligible players last year will have two games today.
The day opens with Talisay meeting up with Minglanilla at 8:30am.
Talisay also takes the first game in the afternoon versus host Naga at 1o'clock.
Cluster-I champion, Carcar, for their part, hopes to bounce back from its loss when they tackle Sibonga at 11:15 am and then followed by the 2:30pm game versus Sibonga.
Host Naga, for their part, aside from dealing with Talisay, will be tackling San Fernando at 10:15 am.
Today's schedule will have Minglanilla taking the most taxing assignment as after they will play against Talisay, they are set to see action for two more games, against Sibonga at 3:30 and then versus San Fernando immediately after that.
The two out of three sets system will be applied in the elimination round and rule of succession will be followed in the games schedule.
On the other hand, tomorrow's action will have Naga dealing with Carcar, then Minglanilla and Sibonga, as Talisay tackles Sibonga and San Fernando.
