USC downs UC in CESAFI volleyball

The University of San Carlos (USC) men's volleyball team downed the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in three sets in the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball tournament yesterday at the USC gym.
Roderick Arenasa led the Jaguars in winning the first set, 25-9, but the Webmasters clawed back to take the second set, 25-8. It was in the third set that the host team managed to pull through with the win, 25-19.
To make the matter worse, the Lady Webmasters also dropped their game, bowing to Southwestern University, also in three sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-13.
On the other hand, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), led by Arwin Pañe, was victorious over Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT), 25-13, 12-25, 25-16.
Also, powerhouse University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) handed the University of the Visaays Green Lancers its second straight defeat in the men's side, 25-19, 25-16, 25-14. - Correspondent Marigold P. Lebumfacil
