Jojo Bardon of Rex "Wakee" Salud Stable retained his Philippine flyweight title after scoring a 12-round shutout of Saranggani Province's Abdul Eraham in the main event of the other night's "Engkwentro sa San Carlos Tres" card at the San Carlos City Auditorium in Negros Occidental.
The official scores were 116-112, 117-111, and 115-113 all for the pride of San Carlos, who defended for the first time the crown he won by beating ALA Boy Rocky Fuentes via split decision last March 18 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.
In the supporting bouts, Ilonggo boxer Van Bantillan won by disqualification over Romeo Buhawi of Cebu at 1:23 of the fourth round, while another homegrown talent of San Carlos, Marron Ursal, prevailed by unanimous verdict over Ormoc's Arnel Barricuatro.
San Carlos-born ring gladiators Angelito Abella and Jimboy Casipli were also impressive, pulling off a clinical first TKO wins over Dumaguete City's Rodel Calbug and Ian Arcalin, respectively.
The slambang event was presented by RWS International Promotions in partnership with the San Carlos City Boxing Club and the San Carlos local government.
