The Agbay sisters, Mary Evangeline and Mary Stephanie, hope to reap more honors for the country as they compete in the 1st First World Junior Wushu Championships, which kicks off today at the Badminton Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Agbay siblings were the only Cebuana athletes who made it to the RP squad. They had gone through a series of evaluation and rigid selection process before grabbing the slots reserved for them.
The Agbays and four other members of the RP junior wushu team will contend against a strong field of foreign opposition.
The Agbays had been training since June at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
The Pinoy wushu artists, who will be accompanied by Julian Camacho of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), are yearning to bring home the bacon when they return to the country on the 28th because of the intense training they went through. -Marigold P. Lebumfacil, Correspondent
