Yu siblings rule 2006 Quickflight Classic series

PJ Yu and his younger brother Kevin Paul opened the 2006 Quickflight Downhill and Four-cross Classic Series with impressive victories the other day at the Velasquez trails in Upper Busay.
An expert division rider, PJ Yu grabbed a 1-3 finish in two mountainbike events.
The most dominant downhiller in the inaugural staging of the Quickflight Downhill Classic. PJ came out even faster this time as he claimed the premier expert's class with a time of one minute and 38.31 seconds.
PJ made sure not to be outsmarted by Donkey Sanchez, who was riding on a hard-tail bike.
Sanchez, who is also into motocross, took the second place honors with in 1:40.22 while Macky Igot, who was in a full suspension bike like Yu, completed the top three in 1:40.40.
PJ got third in the four-cross competition, dominated by top sportsclimber-turned mountainbiker, Jun Vidal and followed by Sanchez.
PJ's younger brother, Kevin Paul, who is now elevated from the beginner's to the novice division was never intimidated at all and even had a double victory.
Kevin Paul won the hard tail bike novice division title in 1:40.40 clocking as Galvin Galan trailed in 1:52.28 and Michael Medina at third place in 2:13.14.
He also got the top post in the four-cross novice division battle over Bryan Boter and Bon Ferol.
Ferol was the first placer in the full suspension-novice division in 1:46.34 while Boter was second in 1:46.73. Jun Fernandez was third place in 1:47.85.
The downhill event executive class, on the other hand, saw Jerold Tuburan winning the top post in 1:56.77 after outpedalling lone opponent Apen Sanson who settled in 2:01.87.
Neil Barz, who was only third in the QFDC last year, came out better, after winning the first place in the hard-tail-beginners class with a time of 1:58.50 over Carlos Russel (2:02.20) and Beboy Basco (2:16.54).
The event is presented by Nature's Spring and the Cebu City Sports Commission with the support of MS Motosuit, Sharp and J Marketing.
The winners their awarding ceremonies last night at Outpost Restaurant at Nivel Hills, according to CCSC cycling and motocross director Andot Rubi.
