SAC awardee Adlawan shines brightly in 5th leg of MS Motosuit Series

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
After being honored as one of the major honorees during last week's All-Cebu Sports Awards, Jon-Jon Adlawan showed he is worthy of such commendation as he shone as the brightest rider in the fifth leg of the MS Motosuit Motocross Series over the weekend in Carcar,Cebu.

The small-but-terrible Adlawan of PowerSports Racing bagged the Barangay Liburon Cup's experts and novice open production titles.

The absence of series leader Irwin Uypitching and the veteran Pepo Rubi due to pressing matters made Adlawan's day more comfortable.

Actually, Jubenile Abellar, who had been a consistent top three finisher in the first four legs of the event, was the top rider to beat, but Adlawan stole the limelight from Abellar by crossing the finish line in the two heats to win the title.

Abellar settled for second, while his brother Jobannie ended up third.

Before reigning supreme in the experts class, Adlawan, a high school student of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit, collected his third title under the novice open production of the series after he outmanuevered teammates Chai Hong Sy and Ian Reyes.

Reyes, however, made up from that debacle by posting back-to-back wins in the novice open enduro, beating once again the visiting Jed Luna. Dongkey Sanchez wound up third.

Sanchez though topped the local enduro, besting Luna and Boni Bustillo, who occupied the second and third spots.

Aside from the local enduro, Sanchez also won the beginners open production over the returning Seigfred Ornopia, while Norman Pautan settled for third place honors.

Andot Rubi, who decided not to go with his brother Pepo in Dipolog, did not regret his decision as he regained the top seat in the executives A. He defeated Andy Krickle and Aloy Igot.

In the executives B, Norving Commendador padded his lead in the overall standings after winning the top post over the comebacking Gene Faelnar.

After several attempts, Samantha Abellar finally snatched the mini class tiara by edging out a bunch of equally-talented youngsters that include John Flores and Renan Alquisola, who copped the second and third place trophies.

Samantha's brothers, Joshua, Jobannie and Jubenile, had a 1-2-3 finish in the intermediate class.

Adz Sanchez won the beginner's B title over Jabe Planas and Amay Amon, while the All-Carcar riders' race saw Jake Navarro winning the first place honors, Brian Abarquez second and Wenie Nadela third.
