Noel Famor made another impressive feat to win the premiere senior division title of the 3rd Big Al's Bikefest at the Cebu Grand Hotel's open area yesterday.
Before claiming the top honors, the 31 year-old veteran pedal-pusher Famor suffered setback in the qualifying heat when his bike's chain broke down as he was on his way to take the lead early in the race.
In the final run, Famor just maintained good pacing, letting the younger challengers take the front-line in the early goings of the 15-lap with 4.28 meters per lap race.
As the final lap was nearing, Famor zoomed on top and never looked back to win the title with a time of eight minutes and 18.74 seconds.
Earl Vince Cadampog trailed Famor to claim the second place with 8:19.30, outsmarting expert bmx race senior division winner, Joseph Diez as Norman Navarro ended fourth.
Meanwhile, Talisay Rider with Infinite Biking Experience (TRIBE) bet Wenston Bucariza and Eugene Orillano also topped in their respective divisions.
Bucariza topped the executive division, beating Emelito Quebec while Leonil Abella was third.
Bucariza's training partner, Orillano, for his part, got the veteran's title against Melencio Java as Celestino Manatad wound up third.
Ben Fabroa came out the fastest in the master's division with Benito Javier and Clecerio taking away the second and third places, respectively.
Rogelio Basirgo out-pedalled Rudy Cordero for the top post in the golden boys' division while Raul Durangparang came out third.
On the other hand, Paul Filosopo, son of Cebu Hall of Famer, Paulino Filosopo managed to pull it through and won the fatboys class against Joselito Monilar as Raymund Almocera ended third.
Ryan Lipata, Loren Codera and Mark Cabatingan had the 1-2-3 spots in the junior division while the top three winners in the beginners' division were Julius Diez, Kevin Laborte and Jordan Toledo.
The Tisa-based Team Sukarap also grabbed part of the limelight with the Biggest delegation award in the event supported by Cebu Grand Hotel, Rocky Mountain Sports, Classical Touch, Dew Foam, Dura Brand, YKK Trading, GAP/Mobile and Toes.
