Pau de Arco grills American Feeds to rule MLSDF-CCSC Mayor's Cup softball

Pau de Arco Liniment needed a one-inning extension before claiming the coveted MLSDF-CCSC 2006 Mayor's Cup Softball Open crown at the Basak National High School grounds.

Pau de Arco defeated American Feeds, 6-5, to grab he title.

Pau de Arco was limited to a single run in the first three innings before taking two more runs under the bottom of the fourth inning.

American Feeds, however, was not about to give up, and cut Pau's lead to only one after posting two runs including a homer from Nacario in the fifth inning.

Pau de Arco, alarmed by American Feeds' comeback, snatched two runs during their turn at the offense in the fifth canto to tally a 5-2 lead.

But Pau de Arco crumbled their defense paving the way for American Feeds to grab three runs in the sixth inning courtesy of Marlon Cabrera, Ladisla and Alexis Rollon to tie the game, 5-all.

Both squads were scoreless in the last inning that opened to an extension.

Pau de Arco's trusted pitcher Felix Custodio prevented American Feeds to score. They only needed a single run to win the battle and made it via the efforts of J. Babatid to capture the title.

Aside from winning the title, Pau de Arco's reign was spiced up with Samuel Bacaltos' proclamation as the Most Valuable Player and Felix Custodio as the best pitcher.

American Feeds also had two special awards, with two former RP training pool members Marlon Cabrera as the best hitter and Alixis Rollon as the best slugger.

Salazar Colleges-SIT wound up third after bowing to American Feeds earlier, 5-4.
