Rodriguez tops 3rd Masters Cup table tennis tilt

Jason Rodriguez of Mandaue City claimed the top honors in the 3rd Masters Cup Summer event of the Metro Cebu Table Tennis League (MECTTEL) the otherday at SM City-Cebu. Rodriguez, a member of the San Juan de Letran table tennis team for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, defeated Wendel Zamora, 3-1, in the finals to grab the title. Rodriguez remains on the top with 3-0 record after he defeated St. Benilde's NCAA table tennis team member Yolando Taño Jr. of Ormoc in the semi-final round while Zamora, vice-President of MECTTEL, triumphed with 3-1 decision match over Julieto Rodin of University of Cebu in the semi-final match. Taño, on the other hand, closed the game with 3-0 win over Rodin for the 3rd place.
