Bacolod grabs leadership in inter-club football

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
Powerhouse Bacolod takes the lead in the men's open division after winning against early favorite, Don Bosco-Fugsport, 3-2 in the 2nd Cebu Inter-Club Football Tournament at the University of San Carlos-Technology Campus football field.

Bacolod, powered by the West Negros College booters, stands with an immaculate 3-0 win-loss card.

The Negrenses lead the charge against Fugsport at the first half behind the goals of Robert Cameda and Aaron Amantillo.

DBC-Fugsports answered with Intong and Orculio making a goal each.

However, Cameda found another opportunity to score in the middle of the final half that spelled the victory for Bacolod, breaking the tie with DBC-Fugsport.

DBC-Fugsport dropped to second with 2-1 mark.

The other men's open action saw defending champion Hiroshi and Queen City United taking a win each.

It's a back-to-back win for Hiroshi after defeating Dumaguete, 3-0.

Marlon Rey Cubuelo broke the ice, taking the first goal, 39 minutes down the action.

As the second half proceeded, John Paul Aranguez added another goal and followed with another one by Jake Acre that pave their way to the victory.

It's the first win for Queen City United after silencing Ormoc, 5-0.

Queen City bounced back from its loss to Fugsport, the other day, by coming out too strong for Ormoc.

Martin Bontia took the first goal for Queen City at the 35th minute for a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

Ormoc continued to be disorganized and let Queen City post four more goals.

Joseph Sacil made the second point at the 55th minute and followed by a back-to-back goals by Rey Baring 10 minutes after Sacil's goal and then on the 83rd minute.

Queen City's Aller added one more point in the 87th minute to seal their team's win in three outings and keeping Ormoc winless.
