A total of 12 teams led by defending champion Welcoat Paints will start their quest for supremacy as the Guadalupe Athletic Association (GAA) Founder's Cup first conference unfolds today at the Guadalupe Sports Complex.
The traditional parade of competing teams will usher in the tournament at 8 am.
Aside from Welcoat Paints (Rain or Shine), the other teams seeing action are last year's second conference champion Agencia Grande, Aqua Serv, BJL, AC Sports, Ygpit Sportswear, Ludo/RDM, G&S International, Rama/Bullo, Leopard, Fontana Mineral Water and Cebu Movers System.
For the first time in GAA history, the tournament will not be played at the Guadalupe gym the entire season as they will hold games in nearby sitios such as Banawa, Englis, Singson and Poblacion.
The GAA Founder's Cup officers for this year are president Lito Posadas, vice president and ex-USJR Jaguar Alan Ricaña, secretary Michael Granada, treasurer Chito Nabua, auditors Chris Abella and Serge Cortez, and PRO's David dela Cruz and Norwin Honoridez.
