Mantawi 10K run slated May 7

A running competition will debut next month as the First Mantawi Festival 10-kilometer Fun Run kicks off May 7 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.
Organized by the Mandaue Runners Club in cooperation with the Mandaue City Sports Development Commission, the Mantawi Run will feature eight different age categories namely the premiere men and women's open, women's masters (40 years old and above), men's masters A (40-59 years old), men's masters B (60 years old above), executive A (for Cebu Executive Runner Club members) executive B (for non CERC members) and the TMX Runners Club.
The top 10 winners in each category will receive cash prizes even as a total of 24 trophies and 56 medals are up for grabs in the event held as one of the activities lined up for the Mantawi Festival.
Registration is now going on at the Cebu City Sports Center and Mandaue City Hall from Monday to Saturday at 4 pm to 8 pm.
Heading the organizing group is its president Democrito Branzuela and supported by Tomas Nuñez, Jr., Paulino Obiza and Wilfredo Ignacio.
