Ornopia Cup blasts off in San Remegio
April 9, 2006 | 12:00am
The inaugural staging of the MS Motosuit Motocross Series unfolds today at the natural terrains of Calambua in San Remegio.
The first leg, dubbed as the "Ornopia Cup," is expected to be very exciting with Cebu's best and upcoming riders meeting some visiting riders from the nearby provinces.
A sibling rivalry between the Abellar brothers is expected in the racetrack along with Jon-Jon Adlawan, who will be competing under the PowerSports Racing.
The top riders of Quickflight, on the other hand, are also expected to join the event, but brothers Andot and Pepo are still undecided as off presstime as they are watching over Popeye, who is still recuperating from a bad fall in a race in Sagay last month.
Today's action will be featuring different classes including the expert open, intermediate open production, novice open enduro, novice 125 enduro, beginner's production, pewee, mini (85cc), mini (65cc), ladies, executive A and B.
The top three winners of each class will get to take home cash prizes and trophies.
Riders will also earn points for the overall standings and be named the best rider or the Rider of the Year.
