Foreigners sizzle at the end of Terry Larrazabal bikefest

Foreign cyclists stole the thunder at the close of the 5th Terry Larrazabal Bike Festival as they wowed the crowd and gave some valuable lessons to Filipino extreme bike enthusiasts with their flashy moves in different events in Ormoc City.

The Thai nationals ruled the bmx flatland, the Malaysians topped the dirt jumping, while the Singaporeans stamped their class in the trial bikes.

Thailand's Kritsada Prathumma shared his new bike tricks using a bmx to get the judges' nod for the place first honors in the flat land, commonly known as the freestyle.

Prathumma tallied a total of 264 points, three points ahead of his teammate Pichit Woraa-nan, while Patna Anan grabbed the bronze with 253 points.

Malaysia's Mohd Shahrulnizam Bin HJ Ahmid ended his quest at fourth place with 226 points.

In the dirt jumping, just as when the locals thought only engine-powered bikes could cross a double jump, the Malaysians showed them otherwise after crossing the obstacles impressively.

Zafrin Shah won the top post, while teammates Mohd Shamruzan Bin HJ Ahmad and Mohd Farit settled for second and third place, respectively.

On the other hand, the first trial competition in the country saw no less than former world champion and "Adventure King" Hans Rey judging the contestants, mostly from Singapore.

At the end, it was Jeremy Chin who got the gold after negotiating the different sections with less errors.

Pen Wilson won the second place, while Newin Tay grabbed the third place trophy.

In the single speed event of mountainbike tilt, it was Danilo Cabugwagon who came out the fastest, while Kenneth Dumagsa and Chino Ian Cadiz ended second and third.

Just like in the previous TLDF staging, national downhiller Michael Borja was named as the "Festival King" based on the number of events he competed as well as his placing in each event.
