Newly-formed Philhealth-VII brought back to the ground PPSA-Lourdes Cup champion Pipeline, 73-72, in an exhibition game in the Hipodromo Summer Basketball Tournament at the Hipodromo gym.
Pipeline, who recently savored victory in the Lourdes Cup, dominated the first three-quarters of the game behind the efforts of Dong Almonte and Daryl Smith.
Pipeline continued to pounce on in the final canto, until Philhealth, after calling for a time-out, went on a rampage to inch closer by two points.
With only 13 seconds left in the ballgame, Pipeline threw a costly turnover and failed to put up a good defense paving the way for Jerry Jaca to successfully connect a rainbow enroute to a come-from-behind win.
