Dendramil Merchandizing '94 once again rode on the vaunted one-two punch of Anwar Satina and Wellington Yu to humiliate the winless Juvis Marketing 2003, 82-65, and keep its unbeaten record intact in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 8th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup on Friday at the CEC gym.
Satina unloaded 24 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals, while Yu banged in 21 points on top of 14 rebounds and six assists in an all-around show that vaulted Class '94 to the top of the totem pole with a clean 6-0 slate.
Class '94 actually trailed by seven points at halftime, 27-34, but whipped up a furious second half storm capped by a game-closing 32-14 spurt to fluster Class 2003 at the final buzzer.
Joey Catipay had 22 points and nine rebounds, while Winston Tan and Jimpaul Yankee combined for a 29-point output, but still fell short-handed in the end as Class 2003 wallowed further at the cellar with a pitiful 0-5 record.
In the other game, cat-quick playmaker Stephen Lee torched a season-high 23 points to carry Armour Wood '81/85 to a 64-38 massacre of the hapless Greenhills Quality Feeds '86/90.
Class '81/85 pummeled Class '86/90 quarter after quarter starting off with an 18-8 blitz in the first 10 minutes of play.
The lead ballooned to 14 points, 44-30, at the end of the third period, before Class '81/85 eventually finished off Class '86/80 with a devastating 20-8 run in the windup for the 26-point cakewalk.
Lee was heavily backed up by the steady-handed Joel Chan who was just an assist shy from a triple-double finishing with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists.
Edvin Kaw added seven points and nine rebounds as Class '81/85 improved its win-loss record to 5-1.
